Coconut porter - Muddy York

 

Mood: this week just started and I'm already tired AF.

Beer type: Porter

Ingredients: water, malted barley, wheat, toasted coconut, hops, yeast. 

Region: East York, Ontario

ml: 355ml

Appearance: dark brown

Smell: sweet porter. Like sugared coconut 

Taste: first sip is sweet coconut porter, but it goes away very quickly to just be a porter

Mouthfeel: turns into a smooth cream in my mouth, quite lovely! 

Finish: bitter in my throat almost a dirty water aftertaste. 

Overall: Not bad, but not good. Out of the porters ive had in my day this is probabaly one of the better ones. But over time I'm noticing more and more that porters just aren't my thing. Not worth the far drive for this one. 

6/10 - it's ok, won't be going to this brewery specifically to pick it up though. 

Blackberry Porter - Cannery Brewing - 5.25

Mood: saw it amongst the millions of craft beers, notice a trend of me getting flavours? Ya that's cuz I can't decide!

Beer Type: porter

Ingredients: malted barley, hops, water, yeast, natural blackberry flavour

Country: Canada (bc)

ml: 650ml

Appearance: dark. As. Heck.

Smell: a fruity beer, dark smell, a lot like a  chocolate or coffee porter.

Taste: like the coffee porter I had at beer Fest. Strong, dark, nice rich flavour, good if you want a porter.... Bitter aftertaste!

Mouthfeel: crisp clean not creamy.

Finished: bitter, blackberry like!

Overall: exactly how I thought it would taste! Liked it!
